rogerEESI Board Member Roger Duncan Leads Initiative to Develop Tool to Simply Carbon Reduction Priorities for Utilities, Businesses and Governments

October 15, 2007, Roger Duncan, Deputy General Manager of Austin Energy and EESI Board Member, hosted a discussion to initiate a mutual effort in prioritizing for cleaner energy through the use of a tool that will simplify making cost effective choices for reducing carbon.  Roger has developed a concept to provide businesses, individuals, utilities, and policymakers with the ability to prioritize energy choices using selected criteria.  Roger assembled a team of experts to provide input and feedback on this important matter of how well resources are allocated to reducing carbon.  The group discussed the importance of customizing the carbon foot print calculator and methods to easily choose an energy project that will reduce carbon in the most cost-effective way.
